Counseling
Individual and family therapy addresses a wide range of mental health as well as substance use concerns. We offer specialized treatment based on the clients individual needs. Our providers are trained in trauma, depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, ADHD, treatment of sexual offenders, as well as other issues individuals and families come upon in their life. Family therapy includes the family as the means to make possible positive family interactions amongst individuals.
Mental Health Groups are offered based on the clients needs. Some of the groups offered are substance abuse, anger management, depression, and domestic violence or abuse. Group therapy employ interactions between more than one individual or couple, with the focus being to focus the needs and interpersonal relationships within the group.
We understand that caregivers of young children with severe behavioral problems frequently require more support than an office based treatment is able to provide. We provide in-home services for children and their families to develop and implement a plan to focus on behavioral problems. While in the families’ home, the providers will develop strategies for managing problem behaviors. Services with Therapy Today Behavioral Health may continue in an outpatient setting and may include play therapy or other therapeutic interventions to maintain the progress made.
Play therapy is utilized when the individual’s needs can’t be met through usual levels of interaction with the therapist. In play therapy, the therapist may use games, instruments, special devices, or people to conquer presenting barriers holding up the therapeutic relations between the individual and the therapist.
What is Neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback is a therapeutic intervention that provides immediate feedback from a computer-based program that assesses a client's brainwave activity. The program then uses sound or visual signals to reorganize or retrain these brain signals. You will watch a movie or listen to music while your brain and central nervous system receive feedback signals from the program. By responding to this process, clients learn to regulate and improve their brain function and to alleviate symptoms or various neurological and mental health disorders. This is achieved by repetitive training sessions (2-3 times per week). Between sessions, you should be able to notice changes in stress, sleep patterns, emotional stability, or mental clarity
Unlike medication, individuals who complete treatment with neurofeedback often report sustained symptom reduction and continued improvement in their neurological functioning long after they have completed their treatment and without the common side effects of psychotropic medication.
When is Neurofeedback used?
Children, adolescents, and adults with behavior disorders, ADD/ADHD, ongoing developmental delays, nightmares, bed-wetting, anxiety, depression, PTSD, addiction, migraines, acquired brain injuries, birth trauma, stress-related problems and insomnia or interrupted sleep patterns, as well as those with age related cognitive loss, pain and nausea, and enhancing immunity, maintain memory function, and peek performance for athletes.
Psychosocial Rehabilitation
Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services or PSR is intended to decrease psychosocial dysfunction and rebuild individuals to their highest level of functioning. Interventions may include: effective communication, behavioral management, moral reasoning, problem identification and resolution, identity and emotional intimacy, and life goals. A licensed therapist will put a treatment plan together in order to target goals that are specific to each individual client.
